Preparing Your CodyChat Community For Growth

A sudden spike in members is a good problem to have — until it isn't, because the server wasn't ready for it. If you're expecting growth, here's what's worth checking beforehand.

Database Headroom

Chat platforms are database-heavy: every message, reaction and status update is a query. Before a growth push, it's worth confirming your current plan's database tuning has headroom for higher concurrent activity, not just more total members.

Concurrent User Capacity

There's a difference between total registered members and concurrent active users — the latter is what actually stresses a server. If your community regularly has a meaningful fraction of members online at once, size your plan around concurrency, not just member count.

WebSocket Configuration

If your CodyChat setup uses WebSockets for real-time updates, confirm that's properly supported and configured on your hosting plan before traffic increases — this is one of the more common gaps when communities outgrow a starter plan.

Backup Frequency

More activity means more data changing more often. Check that your backup schedule matches how much you'd be comfortable losing if something went wrong during a busy period.
